You've survived Halloween! You did. You're here. If you haven't already gotten rid of the remaining candy, do it now. Give it away. Throw it out. Do something with it that will support you and where you want to go. I don't recommend eating it yourself.
Now for the rest of the Holiday Season...
If you were to close your eyes right now and imagine yourself waking up on January 2, 2010, how would you like to remember this holiday season? What would help you enjoy your holiday more? What would make the holiday truly yours?
I got to thinking about my Thanksgiving and what I wanted from it. I realized I wanted the joy, fun and slower pace of childhood. I didn't want the responsibility of cooking and cleaning. And though I wanted to enjoy all the traditional foods (including a slice of pie), I didn't want to be eating that way for days and days. It is a holiDAY after all, not a holiWEEK.
So I suggested to my family (all right it was more along the lines of a statement) that we eat out for Thanksgiving, and do something a bit more active than usual. So this year it's a hike through the Volcanoes National Park , dinner at Kilauea Lodge and then a board game or two (with pie!) at home afterwards. Yes, I seem to be fixating on that piece of pumpkin pie, but at least I won't have the whole thing.
And I'm already thinking about how I can make Christmas more relaxing and spend my time enjoying my family and friends.
How will you make the holiday yours this season?
