Small Steps

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Try This:

Experiment.  If you want to create a new habit (move more, eat healthier, relax more, enjoy more, etc) think of experimenting to see how and what will work for you.  The beauty of experimenting is that there is no such thing as failure.  You always gain knowledge and understanding.  You get to learn what works and what doesn't.  You can then change some of the things to don't work for you and try again.  To me, experimenting gives me the freedom and courage to try again.

What will you experiment with this week?
How'd it go?

What did you have for breakfast last week?
Was it quick, easy and healthy?

I'm not the only one that believes in small steps.  The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has a website which provides small steps tips and information.

Results!  Why, man, I have gotten a lot of results.  I know several thousand things that won't work.

My Journey:
Shawndra's AFTER
I've lost weight twice before but I gained it back eventually.  This time I'm determined to keep it off and I realize that it's not a one time fix.  It's a journey.  And as with all great journeys, you learn as you go.

I take these small steps with you each week because I also need to build and maintain the habits and behaviors that support me in my journey.  Thanks for joining me each week.  Have fun and enjoy your life!
