Greetings!
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest, Washington State to be exact.  Well they certainly know how to make wine up here and they're not too shabby at consuming it either.  When this whole trip started, I had every intention of doing one these little rambling commentary's every day, but, well, some time the ol' fingers couldn't keep up with the way the brain was shooting out signals.  I tried to type in some notes each day, you know in case things got a little fuzzy, and as I go back and read them now, it's looks as though a monkey was banging on my keyboard with a spatula, only the sentences aren't as well structured.  So now that the trip is winding down and I have a few moments before heading out, I thought I'd bring you up to date on a couple of events we've just booked for the store and share a couple of pics from my little foray into wine country here.  Next week, or tomorrow, whichever comes first, I'll try to give a more complete accounting of my journey- If i can figure out what that darn monkey was trying to say, that is.

A BUSY WEEK, BUT A VERY NICE ONE
We are going to have a very busy time at the end of the month, but if we start planning now and getting prepared, I think we can get through it fairly unscathed.  First, on Tuesday the 20th, Elise Barnard, from the Barnard Griffin winery here in Washington, will be at the Grape pouring samples of some of her families incredibly good wines, please stop by and have a taste, you will be very pleased.  Two nights later Terri Rolari, from Ferrari-Carano, in California, will be at the Grape, also pouring some tastes of their wines.  Now, we have been carrying these wines since we opened, and they are by far some of my favorites.  This event will be catered, and thus we will have to limit tickets, the cost will be $25 each, but you'll get a $10 credit towards any of their wines you purchase, which will all be available at a greatly reduced price.  Great food, great wines......$15, can you say date night?  Tickets are available now at the Grape, or call us to reserve one.  Two nights later, is the Taste of Florida event at the Armory wherein our fantastic meal, in concept, will be available to bid on.  So a busy week but not undoable........

JUST A FEW PICS.......
pouing
We were able to get some more of the 2006 Ridge Paso Robles Zinfandel in, and are blowing it out at $25 a bottle, or $240 a case.  It is 100% Zinfandel from the Benito Dusi Ranch, which is one of the finest in all of California, we only have three cases right now, and I'm not sure if we will be able to get any more, let me know if you are interested.  This Saturday is the first one of the month, therefore it is Wine Club!  Last month we had a very nice blend from Australia, this month we have another fine wine from California.  Members will be receiving two half bottles of the 2004 Rutherford Hill Merlot which retails for $12 a half, or $22 a full bottle.  A fantastic bargain!  If you are not a member, and would like to enjoy fine wines like the one I just mentioned, then by all means join us!  It's really quite easy, and the wines are quite good.  We will have samples available all day Saturday and will be cooking up some snacks around 2:00, I hope you are able to stop by.  I may not look excited in the picture, but I am, I'm tasting barrel samples of the Gordon Brothers 2008 Reserve Cab.......why don't we have barrels like this full of wine at the shop?

My bus awaits, sorry to run so fast, thanks for your patience, more soon.......
