THE GRAPE WRAPPER
VOL 1 ISSUE 5
Greetings!

Well I have to tell you, building that website sure took a lot out of me.  First there was all the design work, then the actual writing of protocols, deciphering of graphs, applying of applications, honing of graphite writing materials, wringing of hands, furrowing of brows, not to mention all of the federal patents that needed to be filed, as well as flight plans and appetizer choices........um, let's start over.  I am happy to announce that Marriane has completed our new website and she's up and running, uh...the website not Marrianne, how on earth would I know whether or not she even likes to run, besides it's hot out and no one in their right mind would be out......sorry, just following a train of thought there.  Anyway, I think it looks good, I'm still updating the calender section, bu t please head on over and check it out, let me know what you think, the address is still www.ElusiveGrape.com

A LITTLE LATE ON THE NOTICE END, BUT........
Katestroll
Sorry to catch you so late in the week, but I was going through the ol' sock drawer the other day and came across this picture of Kate, and I just didn't think it right that you go through the entire holiday weekend without seeing it.  So I'll give you a few moments to take it in, then we'll get on to the regular newsletter business................take your time, I'll be here when your done...........Okay, now that your all relaxed join me down below in the next column and we'll get on to the Grape stuff.

DID BILL HAVE THIS TOWED?  WELL, YOU SEE........
Towing
So Terry Jheirghusens debut on ABC's Crash Course has been delayed slightly, but we have been assured that if they decide America should really be subjected to his mug in high definition, that we will be the first to know so that we may plan accordingly.  Next and foremost on the docket is the reminder that tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month, hence Wine Club!  I am also aware that, although several games have already been played, the official start of college football is also tomorrow.  So the question is, how can we possibly marry these two most revered of occasions?  Well, we have several TV's here and the cable is working, so that end of it's covered.  We have some pretty decent wines and ice cold beer, so that's covered.  Now if we just had a couple of snack's, something to munch on, we'd be real close on this one.  I wonder if Mr. Maconnell would consider doing up some of his World-famous East Carolina Pulled Pork BBQ for us?  Oh, that's right, he already said he would!  I'll throw something together to compliment this month's Wine Club selection, which just happens to go wonderfully with BBQ, we'll get the TV's tuned in, so stop by and join us, say around threeish.  Oh, the picture, yeah, funny story.  Heh! Heh!  You see I watched as someone towed Kris and Rick's car away, yup, just stood there like an idiot and watched as they set the alarm off, pushed it into the parking lot, loaded it up on the wrecker and drove away.  I then proceeded to come back inside and tell them how someone had just had to tow away a car that looked just like theirs, identical almost.  Yep, that was a good time!  So anyway, now that you know a little of the background, I say we have a competition to see who can come up with the best caption, send yours over and I'll announce the winner in the next newsletter.

JUST A COUPLE MORE THINGS....
Chef
On Monday the 14th we will be hosting a fundraiser for the Deland High School Track Team, there will be plenty of wine to taste, beer to quaff and fine and tasty morsels to eat, tickets are $25 each and I have them available here at the store, call for more details.

The slate is set for the Grape/Cress Restaurant Cook-off.  Six individual mere mortals will be here on Saturday the 19th to present a creation, to a panel of three judges, that best compliments the 2006 Efeste Syrah.  The The winner's dish, after modifications if necessary, will be featured on the Cress's dinner menu for one month, and the winning cook will work there one evening, preparing for the masses.  We will be doing a competition like this each month with a different wine of course, and different cooks/mere mortals.  If you are interested in being a mere mortal cook, let me know.  As I noted above, I am currently updating the calendar on our website, so please take a look at it every now and then for an updated event schedule.  Have a safe and fun holiday weekend, I think we might take Kate to the zoo.........
