THE GRAPE WRAPPER
VOL 1 ISSUE 3
Greetings!

monkey kateSo this is how it all begins, a new era of newsletterability.  It seems like just last week that I was sending these things out using nothing more than Microsoft Word and Outlook, the modern equivalent of ash and papyrus tied to the foot of a pigeon.  I cannot be certain that all future NL's will be in this form, only that the birds have left the coop, and I now must rely solely on my own ability to traverse the information highway, armed with nothing more than my knapsack and oversized thumb........Oh yeah, Kate seems to like the changes!

TRIVIA THURSDAY'S
Quite Possibly the Most Revered Trivia Competition of It's Kind- At the Grape
ladies
So here's how it stands, The Gators (Led by Ann Anderson, whom has yet to wear the coconut bra she won), have won three out of the past four weeks, only being bested by The Brain Trust ( Led by Terry Jorgenson, who also refuses to wear his coconut bra) Now, I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything, heaven forbid, but there seems to be a bit of trash talkin' going on out there.  The Gators, comfortably situated atop their thrown, noses slightly raised, have thrown down the gauntlet, they say they can't be beat, especially by "The Drained Brains" (Their words, not mine).  Meanwhile, The Brain Trust, ala Namath, have been overheard guaranteeing a victory.  Wendell, whom has remained quiet on the sidelines, has been spotted with an encyclopedia and an atlas, and seems a bit confident now that the Powers' are back from vacation.  The Howe's, it has been rumored, are planning on making a return to the arena this evening, they, as I'm sure you all already know, were part of the Championship team that unseated the Gator's two weeks ago (cue the theme from Rocky).  Yeah, things are heating up, come on down and join us for a nice friendly game of Trivia, the prizes are always......interesting.  The first round starts at 7:00.

I think I did it again...Yep, my bad.  What I was trying to say is that this Saturday we are having our annual Hot August Night's Party and everyone's invited to join in the fun.  All the stores will be open late, there'll be live music and entertainment downtown, the restaurants and bars will be running some great specials, and we of course will be here to act as your own private oasis.  In addition, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, there will be a bunch of bands performing all day long at The Athens Theater, the first one is scheduled to begin at 1:00.  That's what I was trying to say, so go ahead and leave the pitchforks at home, for now, and join us for the festivities.

There are really good wines at very good prices right now.  As I mentioned before, we are making room for the new vintages and therefore have to.......HEY THERE!  HERE AT BOB DANCE ELUSIVE GRAPE WE'RE MOVING WINE BY THE TRUCKLOAD, WE'VE GOT CASTLE ROCK CABERNET FOR $9.00, HALF BOTTLES OF HAHN MERITAGE FOR $6.00, CADE SAUVIGNON BLANC, ONLY $14 REGULARLY $30, IT ALL HAS TO GO, WHAT DO WE SAY GRACE, "ELUSIVE GRAPE, WHERE EVERYBODY DRINKS!".....Wow....sorry again, I must have fallen asleep with the TV on or something, man I absolutely despise those commercials!
