The National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express selected Port Townsend as one of three Main Street communities to help launch the inaugural "Small Business Saturday" on November 27th!
"Small Business Saturday" was such a success
that they have extended the Small Business promotion through December 31st. Register your American Express card online at the "Small
Business Saturday" website, and receive a $25 credit when you shop at
any small business that accepts American Express cards! It's very easy, and
guess what? Summer House Design accepts American Express cards!

ORNAMENTS!
We look all year for Christmas tree ornaments to make your tree really special (or wild, in the case of this flying Santa). Last year we had the brushy animals from the woods: Foxes, raccoons, skunks, and squirrels. This year the brushies have expanded to include ponies, zoo animals with lions, giraffes and hippos, and a menagerie of cats and dogs. Very cute. We also have handmade, fair-trade felt ornaments from Kyrgyzstan and a selection of blown glass ornaments including owls, hedgehogs,squirrels, pugs, elves, gnomes with mushrooms, whales, and, yes, even Buddha!

Scarves and hats are those accessories you don't think of in summer, but we have them now, when you need them! Our selection of hats includes beautiful handmade pieces designed by Port Townsend's own Gwen Evans, who shows her jackets and tops in our Paris Found corner. We also have "scoodies" made by local artist Abi Crecca--very cozy! She uses a really good grade of fleece, and adds some really wonderful bands and appliqued designs. And we have a heap of hand knit wool hats in wonderful colors designed by a fair-trade company in Arcata, CA and made in Nepal. These are really unique and will look great on you!
