     Hello, Friends of Summer House Design!  September, huh?  What happened to summer??  We had Juneuary, then Foggist, but summer?  We are not complaining, we had some lovely days and a lot of fun in the shop with all kinds of interesting people.  One of those interesting people is Lesley Shelton who has worked for us since 2004.  Honestly, Lesley has a fan club, and often people are disappointed when she's not working.  It's o.k., we are fans of hers as well!
     This month brings us Wooden Boat Festival and The Port Townsend Film Festival.   Summer House Design is sponsoring one of the panel discussions at the film festival this year.  Another thing happening in September is our store will be getting a bit of a face lift.  There will be scaffolding up for at least a week, so please come and see us!  We are trying to have fun with this inconvenience so if you come in the store while the scaffolding is up, and say "scaffold", you will receive a discount. 




                                                                                                                                                


FOXY ORIGINALS JEWELRY
We just brought in a really fun jewelry line, "Foxy Originals Jewelry".   Here's what designers Jen Kluger and Suzie Orol say about their line:
     "We believe that life, like fashion, should be fun, bright and full of excitement.  We founded Foxy Originals on this belief and create unique and playful jewelry pieces that help young women everywhere find their own way to sparkle and shine - without breaking the bank.

     Couldn't have said it better ourselves!



 

We love finding local products for the shop, and sometimes they simply find us!  A couple of weeks ago, Port Townsend designer Jenny Piskula came in our shop to see if we would be interested in carrying her product.  Using her years of experience as a sailmaker and some  rubber inner tubes, Jenny is making wonderful handbags and wallets.  Her designs are fun and practical, and she is making great use of the fascinating texture and warm feel of this recycled material.  Her use of hardware and strapping as accents make these bags visually appealing as well as durable.  Cool and Green!
