Greetings!

Greetings! The Pacific Hospital Preservation and Development Authority (PHPDA) Update is designed to provide our key stakeholders with current information on our projects and evaluation efforts. Additional information is available on our website. We welcome feedback. We remain committed to sharing what we learn in our research and evaluation efforts to support changes at the system and program levels in our community.

We welcome your thoughts

Pacific Hospital PDA Community Interviews

This spring, the Pacific Hospital PDA began a series of interviews with community stakeholders to hear their thoughts on how to improve access for the uninsured, areas of unmet need, and suggestions for ways to leverage our grant dollars.

Thus far, we have talked to stakeholders from safety net providers, large hospital health systems; city, county and state government; and health insurers. We have many more people and individuals with whom we plan to meet. If you have been contacted for an interview, thank you for lending your time and expertise to our work. We are grateful for your insight and perspective.

If you would like to participate in our stakeholder interviews and have not been contacted, please call (206-325-1357) or email Rosemary Aragon, Executive Director. The process is open and informal; your thoughts are welcome.

Amazon to Stay on Campus until 2011

The Pacific Hospital PDA's long-term tenant, Wright Runstad & Company, has signed a lease extension with Amazon.com. The Amazon sublease has been extended to June 2011.

Lease revenues from this partnership have helped the Pacific Hospital PDA fund more than $2 million each year in specialty care and interpreter services for the uninsured in our community.

About Us
The mission of the PHPDA is to champion effective health care for the vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community. We work in partnership with other community organizations to improve health care access for people with no health insurance, particularly those who need specialty care. We support culturally appropriate health care, and we serve as a steward in the use of lease revenues and grants to improve health care access. You can learn more about our work at www.phpda.org.

Sincerely,

Rosemary Baker Aragon, Executive Director
