Arts Profile: Hanson and Kastle San Carlos artists, Ken and Ingrid Hanson, are a husband and wife glass blowing team that have worked collabor- atively for over ten years through their company Hanson and Kastles. Together they create hand blown art glass that is both unique and contemporary. They are featured artists at the 16th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch, an event featuring thousands of one-of-a-kind, hand-blown glass pumpkins crafted by more than 30 artisans, The event is held Sept. 27-30 at Rinconda Park in Palo Alto with the sale on Oct. 1-2. PAC Workshop and Outreach
PAC held a special workshop for artists, August 11, 2011, at Twin Pines Art Center. Guest speaker, Gwenda Joyce, Art Ambassador, provided a number of take-aways designed to inspire artists to get their art out of their studios and onto gallery walls. Top Three Tips: - Focus on what you what to say with your art
- Consider creating a series of work or work that is all the same size
- Be prepared to talk about your art- have that bio or elevator speech ready

New Art Gallery Opens in Redwood City
The NEW Redwood City Gallery Annex opened on Saturday, August 13 at the corner of Broadway and Theater Way. The opening exhibit on display through Sept. 6th, features award winning artists, Edna Acri, Alisan Andrews, Erica Aranyos, Tom Ayers, Tom Chapman, Sharon Chan-Parodi, Linda I. Choy, Carolyn Jones, Pat Kovattana, Marla Lehr, Beth Mostovoy, and Jan Prisco. Music for the reception was provided by Tom Donofrio and David Kemmer.
The gallery will be open once a month for receptions, otherwise the exhibit may be viewed entirely from the outside.

| City Arts of San Mateo Partners with Peninsula Ballet Theatre
Exhibit Celebrates Ballet Anniversary
City Arts of San Mateo partnered with Peninsula Ballet Theatre (PBT) to curate a gallery within the ballet's regional arts center facility at 1880 S. Grant St. in San Mateo. The first exhibit celebrates the ballet's first anniversary in the new location.
The City Arts Gallery exhibit features approximately 30 paintings by Mohsen Janatpour, a professor in the Math/Science Division at College of San Mateo. His artistic vision is multi-dimensional, incorporating the element of time, something central to other art forms such as music or dance.
Janatpour's works can be viewed at the Peninsula Ballet Theatre through September.
City Arts of San Mateo is an independent nonprofit that creates, celebrates and encourages the arts in the city of San Mateo.
