9th Annual Diamond Awards_graphic
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 9th Annual Diamond Awards. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to the arts made by individual artists, educators, volunteers, foundations, corporations, donors, or by government support in San Mateo County.  Nominate Directly Online. The deadline for submission is Friday, December 3, 2010.  The awards event will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Redwood Shores Library in Redwood City. Deadline for silent auction prizes, art donations and sponsorships is December 31, 2010. Download a Sponsor Form

Cover Art Needed for Upcoming Cabrillo Cultural Corridor Brochure - PAC announces a Call for Artists to produce cover artwork for a new art and culture brochure & map guide that will highlight coastal artists and unique offerings on the coast.  The guide is geared towards locals and tourists interested in art, food, wine and nature along Hwy 1 between Pacifica and Pescadero.  Winner will be selected by a panel of judges at an artist reception, receive $250 and gain exposure for their work by being featured on 10,000 brochures. Artist Registry Member of the Month

With a background in drawing, painting and photography, Nancy Call Torres has been working professionally in the arts for over 33 years. Being both an artist and an educator, in 1995 she began the popular "Summer Arts Camp: Art Rules", teaching oil painting, crafts, and theater to thousands of Bay Area children. ln 2005, she founded "Art Attack!", a local studio that offers fine art instruction for children, teens and adults. Nancy enjoys making the fine arts more accessible to local audiences and sharing with others her joy of creating art.  See additional work of Nancy's along with many other local artists online at the Peninsula Arts Council Artist Registry.

November marks the 1-year anniversary of the PAC e-newsletter.  The monthly collection of arts news, opportunities and profiles now reaches over 500 businesses, organizations and individuals in San Mateo County. Email articles or events for the PAC newsletter or Arts Event Calendar  by the 5th of each month.
The Peninsula Arts Council is a non-profit organization serving San Mateo County to enhance opportunities for arts experiences and expression for all ages, promote resource sharing and collaboration, and advocate for the arts.
