Dear Friends

Happy Holidays! Happy New Year! Happy Craziness!

It is that special time of year again when we find ourselves immersed in the heartfelt fun, stress, anticipation, madness of the Holidays...and ready or not it has begun!

We at SUGO Music have always held a special place in our hearts for the Holidays as we pause to reflect on our beginnings 25 years ago. When we found ourselves driving all over the San Francisco Bay Area drop-shipping our first 2 albums, The Nutcracker Suite for Guitar and Christmas Classics for Guitar, to independent retailers and gift stores. We worked hard to convinced them to "play and sell" music from boutique indie labels. What a concept! It was an exciting time for SUGO and little did we know that we it would lead us to where we are today!

Those two original recordings continue to top our best selling Holiday list along with a wonderful array of recordings from world acclaimed artists. One of our favorite Holiday artists is virtuoso violinist Michael Ludwig. Michael is featured in this months Artist's Spotlight. You can experience this distinguished artist on the Noel Noel and An Acoustic Christmas Holiday albums.

Music is a great way to keep your Holiday spirits bright. It can serve as a refuge when it all just seems to be a bit too much and remains to be one of the most enduring and meaningful gifts that you can give someone - at a great price! Why not treat yourself or another to a heartfelt musical collection of SUGO Holiday music!

May your Holiday season be filled with magic and music and may all your wishes come true in the New Year!

Best Wishes,
The SUGO Music Family

What artist(s) have influenced you the most?
"I am influenced greatly by artists who have distinct individual voices, whether it be the singular voice and interpretative skills of Frank Sinatra, the unique violin sound of fiddle players such as Jascha Heifetz, Isaac Stern, or my father Irving Ludwig, or the literary style of a writer such as Ernest Hemingway. The creative expression of individuals such as these is a great source of inspiration for me...."

If you were not a musician, what type of career would you have pursued?  "I cannot imagine a life without music. I think we are all, deep inside, musicians to some degree...."  READ MORE

What are you currently listening to these days? What is your iPod mix?  "I never seem to find time to update my i-pod, but it has almost everything Sinatra recorded on it, so I'm never at a loss for beautiful music. As we look to the future, once again we find ourselves embracing new delivery pathways for music and multimedia.

The SUGO Music archive includes Jazz, World, Adult Contemporary, Classical, Easy Listening, Soundtrack,  Relaxation, Holiday genres and more.
