On this recording, the duo chose to arrange songs from a variety of genres: Latin (Milonga de Amor, Malaguena Fantasia, Bomba de Corazon, Prayer for the Rainforest, Tango de Luna, Cuba Libre, La Cumparsita); classical (Cavatina, Ave Maria, Verano Porteno) and World (Perpetual Passion, Meadowsong). The sessions were recorded at the beautiful, state of the art 24 bit Granada Studios in Half Moon Bay, CA. The duo orchestrated percussion, bass and string players on several pieces - providing a dynamic accent to the mix. As in their concert performances, Pasero & Patterson are drawn toward substantial tempo, key and mood variations ranging from forte to minimalistic. Listen closely to their gorgeous arrangement of Cavatina juxtaposed to the 'over-the-top' dexterous finger work on Bomba de Corazon!
