Greetings!
What can you buy for $3.75? A latte? A magazine? A greeting card? For someone who is homeless or living in poverty, $3.75 provides day-long access to public transportation in Clark County. It is literally a "golden ticket" that, with your help, we can make available to those in need of help with transportation.
The Council for the Homeless invites you to help us purchase C-Tran adult day passes to distribute during the January 27 Point in Time Count (the annual homeless census conducted by outreach professionals and volunteers) and at Project Homeless Connect, also January 27. Funds raised through donations to the Council for the Homeless website between January 12 and January 26 will be used to purchase C-Tran adult day passes. A $3.75 adult day pass makes it possible for someone to attend to a variety of needs or appointments over the course of a day. They may need to look for employment, go to work or to the grocery store, pick up their children, keep a medical appointment, or attend to other common needs.
Community members often ask, "How can I help?" Contributing toward the purchase of C-Tran adult day passes is a tangible and meaningful way to make the life of someone in need a little easier.
If you prefer to donate via regular mail, please send your contribution to Council for the Homeless, 2500 Main Street, Vancouver WA 98660. Please note "bus pass contribution" on your check. To donate on the phone, please call me at 360-993-9561.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this effort that will truly help get people moving!
Have a great rest of the week and weekend,
Charlene
