Greetings!

Project Homeless Connect is only three weeks away on January 27, 2011, 10:00am - 3:00pm at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay.  This one-day event offers free services and resources for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  It is a day of "serious action - do it now - make it happen" and we need your help.
Activities will include:
  • Haircuts
  • Health screenings, including vision and dental care
  • Counseling
  • Employment and education assistance
  • Veterans Services
  • Signing up for email and voice mail accounts
  • Assistance with benefits, legal, and financial information
  • The opportunity to receive items from the Giving Corner   
How you can help:
Volunteer at the event: 
You can work 9:30 am-noon, noon -3:00 pm or all day.  Email me if you are interested

Donate to the Giving Corner Needs List: 
  • Sleeping bags
  • New or gently used coats
  • New adult and child socks and underwear (including long underwear)
  • New men's black socks (for job interviews!)
  • Tarps
  • Personal care items
     
Bring your donations to Council for the Homeless office, 2500 Main Street, Vancouver, 98660.  Donations for Project Homeless Connect are also being collected this Saturday January 8th between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Gold Wing Road Riders Association Swap Meet, the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay, 100 Columbia Avenue, Vancouver, 98660.
