"The Late Show Gardens" Comes to Sonoma-
Addressing climate change and drought

September 18th, 19th, an 20th, 2009
9:30 til 5:30 pm
Cornerstone in Sonoma

The Late Show Gardens is a revolutionary garden show unlike any other-addressing climate change and drought head-on. It is an unparalleled opportunity for world-class minds to come together in one place and discuss ideas that may help to improve our impact on the world. Celebrate design while addressing climate change, drought, sustainable practices and renewable resources.

The garden show will be held at Cornerstone Sonoma in the fall, providing an ideal setting to enjoy brilliantly designed gardens, listen to informative lectures given by our highly-acclaimed speakers and shop for the latest in must- have-plants and gifts from our carefully chosen vendors.

Show proceeds will go to the Trust for Public Land's new Balboa Park, in San Francisco's Excelsior district, providing a sorely needed recreation space for the area with the highest concentration of children in the city, and to The Garden Conservancy, with its mandate of care and preservation of historic gardens.

The intimate layout of "The Late Show Gardens" will allow visitors to personally experience a different approach to the crucial issues of climate change, drought and sustainability through garden designs, lectures, and specially selected vendors.

The goal is to educate and share information with the public on reducing water use, reducing the use of pesticides, and increasing the use of sustainable plants and materials.

GARDENS Witness how a huge block of melting ice impacts various plants by either being nourished or killed-highlighting the concepts of microclimate, cycles of water and planting to fit topography in Peter Good's team project.

LECTURES Get informed. Be inspired.Open your mind. Glenn Withey and Charles Price expose a candid look at their Conundrum: Can a garden actually be "sustainable"? Yet another viewpoint that will get you thinking.

INDULGE with goods from 13 nurseries; clay artists; stone sculptors; botanical artists; garden furniture makers; photographers; booksellers; pottery works; painters; recycled painted furniture, and more.
