MessagefromBoardMessage from the CBSR Board

In October 2011, the CBSR Board of Directors outlined a process for the review of the organization's strategic vision and operating model, as well as the recruitment of a new leader. At that time the Board indicated the process would take approximately 6 months, and that the organization would likely be in a transition phase until the Spring of 2012. Now just past the half-way point, the process remains on track. The Board of Directors met on February 15th, received a status update, and provided direction on the remaining stages of the process.

For the immediate term, it is business as usual - CBSR will continue to service clients and members, adding value to their CSR programs. CBSR will also continue to work towards its Mission and Vision, and play a relevant role in the Canadian CSR community.

To ensure the conclusion of the process within the original timeline, the Board has struck a Special Committee. The Special Committee's mandate is to consider strategic alternatives that will strengthen CBSR and enhance the organization.

This consideration of strategic alternatives by the Special Committee has already begun. The Committee's focus is consistent with the direction and opportunities that were presented in the stakeholder consultations undertaken in late 2011, which included meetings with over 50 individuals and an online member survey.

We want to ensure you, on behalf of the Board, that the CBSR Team remains focused on working with our members and partners to advance their CSR work. We thank you for the ongoing support of CBSR during this transition period.
