Greetings!
Wow, it sure has been a cold and extended winter season. Puxatawney Phil had better hope that he and I never meet.
As some of you may know, this was the year I dedicated myself to living a greener lifestyle...that included heating my home exclusively with wood. For me, that meant learning how to use a woman-friendly chain saw, mastering a log splitter, how to recognize a seasoned piece of wood and hauling a stack of wood twice daily. Think of all the side benefits!!! I get out in the sunshine every day for my vitamin D, I get strength training through lifting heavy logs, and I get the satisfaction of being able to rely upon my own inner resources. I've gone through over 5 cords of wood so far.
I won't deny that it has been hard work, it's very chilly in the far reaches of the house. Will I do it again next year? Yes, the high points far outweigh the downside...plus the cats like sleeping next to the stove. How could I say no?

Rooms That Men Just Love
The needs and wants of men
are few and uncomplicated...the company of a few good friends and a warm
atmosphere in which to enjoy them. The friends may be their buddies, good
books, a cigar and a comfy chair, a faithful dog...all these things are clichés
but clichés get to be so because they are so very true!
If it's one thing I have
