Greetings!
Welcome and thanks for visiting with me once again!
I've just returned from my annual convention in Baltimore where I met with my industry friends and associates. It's always uplifting to hear other's ideas and to get some advanced level training from some of the best practitioners in interior design today. I am proud to say that I am now certified as an Exciting Windows Color Expert.
Although I have been in the decorating business for over 20 years, my membership in the Exciting Windows! network is relatively young...so I was honored with the "Rookie of the Year, 2008" award. I also received the "Activities Award" for outstanding effort in getting my new business off the ground. WOO HOO!

A Personal Note...
This is the time of year where I start to get cabin fever. I
think I'd be alright if it weren't for the seed catalogs coming to my mailbox
and the flower shows which tease and tempt.
I love roses and if any of you have experience in growing
hybrid roses, you will know that the nurseries take a hardy root stock and
graft a showy but more delicate flower stock onto it. This is all well and good
until the plant becomes stressed...not enough water, too hot, too cold...I call it
the Goldilocks Syndrome <LOL>. The very next season comes along and you
discover that the beautiful hybrid tea rose bush now bears little weedy looking
flowers instead. When plants become stressed they revert to their root stock.
People do it too. When we encounter more stimulation than we can endure our
instinct is to turn inward.
Why am I telling you this?
Nature presents lessons for living a whole and complete life...if we only
pay attention! Your home, (or to use the analogy of the roses, your root stock)
needs to be strong and solid so that you may have a base upon which to flower
and grow. After the big bad world has beaten you up during the day, there is
great solace in returning to a personal retreat that speaks to your inner
being.
You are
the product of your environment. Now more than ever is the time to invest in
yourself by developing a warm and comforting interior which will enhance every
aspect of your life...give yourself permission, it's so very important.

Rory Warren-Interview with an Industry Expert
As a
designer, I depend on my network of professionals to support the execution of
my designs and services. Since these professionals represent me, you might
imagine that I am very fussy about who is in my circle. I'd like to introduce
you to one of my favorite people;
Rory Warren
is the owner of Warren Home Inspections, the premier home inspection service in
Metro West Boston since 1987. Rory is the only inspection service I recommend
to my clients.
Recently I
was lucky to have captured Rory during one of his rare un-booked moments. We
sat down over coffee and he shared with me the exciting new direction his
business is moving into and of the expanded range of services he is offering
his customers.

interested in helping homeowners be more green.
R. It seems as I get older I care
more about the environment and the effects of burning fossil fuels. By reducing
the fuel consumption of our homes we can make a very positive impact on the
health of our planet. It doesn't hurt that this can also put some extra cash in
our pockets. Energy is the second biggest expense after mortgage payments for
most homeowners. It is also the only
cost that can be effectively reduced.
