Greetings!

The brilliant colours of autumn have come to Algonquin Park, we hope that you can find some time to enjoy them first hand, but if you can't you can watch the leaves change from the comfort of your home via satellite imagery.

satillite Regular followers of our blog will remember that we recommend the NOAA satellite image for the Great Lakes region for following ice-out progress. These images, updated several times daily, are also a useful tool for checking on the advance of fall colours in southern Ontario. Delivering Kayaks
"Live Your Adventure" - What does this mean to you? - Andrea Waldron

To my husband and I "Live Your Adventure" means getting the most out of anything we do. So this spring, when Algonquin Outfitters had a customer that was looking for a way to get the kayak she had purchased to Moosonee, we thought - why not make it an adventure! Huntsville to Moosonee is a two step trip.

The road literally ends at Cochrane. Moosonee and Moose Factory are on the Moose River at the edge of James Bay and are accessible only by a 5 hour train ride or by plane - so getting there is truly part of the fun! The road trip to Cochrane has so much to offer - beautiful scenery, locally made cheese, a chance to stand at the division of the Arctic Watershed and the Great Lakes Watershed, and many historical plaques that chart the settlement of the land.
Map to Moosonee
The railway from Cochrane follows the Abitibi and Moose Rivers as they flow to the Arctic. - definitely an adventure! For the full story of our trip you can read more here.
TEDx & Video Contest

Our Outdoor Adventure Video Contest comes to an end in 2 weeks on Oct 1st.  One of the over a dozen entries we have came from Adam Ruzzo who was one of the honored presenters at TEDx Algonquin Park this past month.
