2nd place "Campsite Visitor"
 | | Campsite Visitor: American Martin at Mew Lake by James Bekkers |
Another popular pick with our judges, this little American Martin was captured at his campsite on Mew lake by James Bekkers.
We've had several photos of American Pine Martin's over the years, entered into our photo contest. One mammal that most don't associate with Algonquin Park and one of our more photogenic ones.
Congratulations to James Bekkers, you've won a Four (4) day ultra light canoe rental from our Oxtongue Lake, Huntsville, or Lake Opeongo locations. Algonquin Outfitters rents mostly Swift Canoes including feather weight Carbon models. Make your Algonquin Park trip enjoyable with a feather weight canoe. |
 | | Innocent by Kerry Hayden |
3rd Place "Innocent"
One of my favorite photos from the contest. This little guy just has such an Innocent look on his little face, truly living up to Kerry's title.
Kerry wins a Four (4) day kayak rental from our Oxtongue Lake, Huntsville, Lake Opeongo locations. Pick from touring, recreational, or even whitewater kayak.
Congratulations Kerry.

 | Hoof'n It Across the Water by Greg Harrigan,
|
Badgers Best Winner
We had a special honorable mention presented by our good friends at Badger Paddles. "The reason we picked this photo first is because it reminds me of the old school way of taking pictures. It is a moment, captured in time, by a park visitor, who snapped the shot from far away. There is nothing fancy about it. The shot is natural, not cropped or Photoshopped and it reminds me of my childhood and the fond memories I have from that time. It is also taken from a distance that shows respect for nature and the space they need from us to go about their survival within the park - with minimal stress or human interference."
Greg Harrigan is presented with the Badger's Best prize package consisting of a Badger Souvenir Paddle and necklace.
