| Dear SORA Members,
We want to thank those of you that have shared your concerns and encouragement over the last week. We as a board felt it important to share the intimate details of your pool to give you the opportunity to choose to support SORA or let it retire. Although the numbers are bleak, we do not believe it is hopeless just yet. We have come so far over the off-season and the swim season is before us now. Our ability to remain open for the duration of the summer will depend directly on each and every member's participation. It is really quite simple, we as members of SORA we must find new members. If not, we must pay higher dues. SORA has heavily depended on anonymous donations and previous year's savings over the past few years. The savings have dried up and we cannot continue to rely upon these donations as heavily as we have. Although grateful for these generous members, we endanger our current 501(c)(7) tax exempt status as a non-profit social club. Without this tax status, we would be required to pay property and income taxes that we could not afford in any capacity.

Memberships are the answer
We must double our membership from last year to 100+ families to sustain a full swim season and have the ability to re-organize for 2010. Every family must recruit at least 1 new family to SORA by July 4th or we will not be able to maintain normal operating hours for the duration of the summer. At that point membership will be forced to consider the undesirable options, some of which were presented to you by our Treasurer earlier this week. You can simply purchase and donate a family membership to a member of our community if you prefer. If you are not currently a stock holder, buying a stock is a legal way of investing and supporting SORA as well.
