Thursday, December 9, 2010 To our church family:On Sunday afternoon, December 5, Pastor Todd, along with Dave MacDonald, Pastor Paul Whittingstall (Harvest York Region) and several other men, left for the devastated country of Haiti. Their itinerary included observing the work of Churches Helping Churches, ministering to Haitian pastors, preaching and encouraging the faithful servants of Christ who are persevering for him in Haiti.
Proverbs 16:9 says that "
the heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." Pastor Paul reports, "We had lots of plans...however God's plan for us is different."
Because of the political unrest surrounding the recent election results, our team has been restricted in their ability to move around Haiti. The Haitian pastors' conference has had to be cancelled, however, ministry to the local pastors is ongoing from within Port au Prince.
One of the results of the current situation in Haiti is that the airport is closed. Plans B, C and D are in place both for the group in Haiti and for the churches at home for Sunday.
Please pray for safety for Pastor Todd, Dave MacDonald, Pastor Paul Whittingstall and the other men in the group. Pray for peace in Haiti.
