One of the highlights of Sunday's services was having our choir lead us in worshipping the God of the Ages. Travis has given permission for us to upload the audio file, so enjoy! Listen to the song. |

The Appearing of Jesus Christ
There's hardly a better time of year than Christmas to get out there and speak about Jesus Christ to those who do not yet know him. While there are plenty of people who prefer the "Xmas" kind of holiday there are many unbelievers who don't mind talking about the CHRISTmas story over the next month.
To help you with your conversations and in making contact with those who are in your world we're providing copies of John Piper's book, Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ, for you to give to a friend along with an invitation to our Christmas services.
What we're suggesting is that each person take three or four books and think and pray very deliberately about who they are going to make contact with. The number of books we have to give away as a church is 450 and we would like to see all of them out into the community before December 21.

Keeping Track of Our (Kanuwloe) Children By Bev Dugard
While in Ghana recently I had the privilege of working with a Canadian and Ghanaian medical team, visiting eight schools over a ten day period and treating over 2,800 children. Thursday, November 13 was a day I was anticipating. Kanuwloe was on our schedule and I was looking forward to connecting with this village and the 150+ children sponsored by our Harvest family. Visiting Kanuwloe was the highlight of the trip for me. I have the unique role of being a member of Harvest Bible Chapel and being employed by I.N. Network Canada. Although there has been much improvement since my first visit to Kanuwloe over four years ago, the needs are still great. Providing for their families is a huge concern for every parent and the worldwide food shortage is affecting their ability to purchase nutritious food. Susan Gedze, pictured above, is a teacher at the school with five children of her own to feed. The Ghana "Basket of Love" program will help her provide for her family this Christmas. Through your generous giving of 118 baskets the burden will be lifted for many families and they will have a better Christmas.
The Adidome Vocational Training Centre is also a favourite place for me to visit. This year, on behalf of Harvest Bible Chapel, I was able to present 100 Bibles to all the women who were recently enrolled in the training program. The Bibles were in their local languages of Ewe and Akan. It was a privilege for me to represent you and the women were excited to have a copy of God's Word in their hands. After the program, four women who were local volunteers working with us on the medical team asked if they could also have a Bible. We were able to purchase four more Bibles as a gift for them as well.

46 Baptisms and Counting...
This Sunday is the last scheduled baptism service for 2008. This year has seen over 30 people baptized so far with 14 more planning to share their testimony and demonstrate their obedience this Sunday. Perhaps you have wondered just who should be baptized. This excerpt from our Believer's Baptism brochure explains..
The Bible teaches that only those who have become believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to be baptized. The Bible specifically states that baptism is for those who have first believed. Acts 8:36-38 says, "And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, 'See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?' And Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.' And he replied, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.' And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him." You will notice that the condition for baptism was believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Since this is limited to those who are old enough to understand, it follows that baptism is limited to those who have personally crossed the bridge to faith in Jesus Christ. Every mention of baptism in the Bible is associated with salvation. Our conclusion is that baptism is only for followers of Christ. New parents often wonder about having their baby baptized. As we look at the Bible, we find that there are no examples of infant baptism. All examples are based on personal faith.

Taking Every Opportunity By Les Galicinski
Last Friday, I had a business meeting at a local coffee pub with a real estate agent whom I had only met once before. As Ray and I wrapped up our business, I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to swing the conversation to things of God. I simply asked Ray if he had ...
