Slow Food USA National Day of Service: Take the $5 Challenge
Date: Saturday, September 17th
Time: 10AM to 2PM
Location: Jerome CommUnity Garden
2115 W. McFadden Avenue, Santa Ana
This year's national day of service has called Slow Foodies from around the nation to create and share a meal costing less than five dollars per person. Come join Slow Food Orange County at one of our favorite gardens, Jerome Park CommUnity Garden in Santa Ana, as we demonstrate just how easy it is to create a tasty and nutritious meal for under five bucks! As always, we will be helping out in the garden all morning and preparing lunch at the same time. Seeking volunteers willing to put their talents and skills to the challenge at the home of The Grain Project! RSVP to Outreach Chair Claudia Chapel at firstname.lastname@example.org. To learn more about the work of The Grain Project, visit www.grainproject.org.
What to bring: garden gloves and small garden implements, any preparation utensils you might like to use, and we encourage everyone to bring their own tableware and napkins, making it easier to clean up afterwards.
