2010-2011 Preliminary Slow Food OC Events Calendar
We're in for a bustling year of events! Throughout 2010 and 2011, we will embark on a quest to increase our understanding of sustainable farming and eating. We'll do this by learning from our neighbors and being inspired by what they're doing to lead a slower life everyday. We invite to you participate in as many events as possible, and suggest additional events we can all enjoy and learn from!
Please note that dates and times are subject to change, so please check out our website from time to time for the latest details.
See something here you'd like to help organize? Would you like to host one of these events? Give us a shout via e-mail. We always need volunteer hosts!

Artful Eating with Jeff: Farmer's Market Tour, Drawing & Cooking Class
Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:30am The Center for Living Peace 4139 Campus Drive, Irvine, CA 92617 www.goodhappens.org This is a non-Slow Food OC event The Center for Living Peace is a newly opened center in Irvine, one that promotes peace, well-being and "paying it forward." What better way to familiarize yourself with the center than participating in a fun hybrid program that lets you shop, draw, then eat? Even though this is a not a Slow Food OC event, we thought it an interesting way to experience great food.
A special program coordinated with the Orange County Museum of Art, The
Center for Living Peace special workshop has been developed by artist-foodie Jeff Venier, who
will lead participants through the Irvine Farmer's Market to gather
fruits and veggies, then return to the center to conduct a still life
drawing session. Finally, Jeff will lead you through making a composed summer salad for you to
enjoy with your chosen ingredients.
Sign up here and enjoy artful eating!
