Teachermate by Innovations for Learning

On January 2nd the MSNBC Today Show featured a classroom that had SEAT SACKS on the back of each chair.  The SEAT SACKS did grab my attention, but so did the product that they were featuring.  The Teachermate by Innovations for Learning gave us a glimpse of how education can be empowered by the design and delivery of math, reading and spelling skills.  Seth Wineberger felt that if we could give students a device similiar to the gameboy that they already know how to use and create it into a teaching device, students might learn better.  Therefore, he created the non-profit Innovations for Learning Company and taught himself the basics of computer programming to enable himself to create this educational tool.  To learn more about this program and how it is changing how kids learn, visit their website at http://www.innovationsforlearning.org/.  Don't forget to purchase a double pocket SEAT SACK for your Teachermate...the perfect spot for your hand held teaching game!
