Over the last few weeks there have been several pet food recalls due to potential Salmonella contamination and involve many popular brands. If you or someone you know are using these brands, please take caution. Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.

Changes have been made to current Ohio law that defines a vicious dog as one "that has seriously hurt or killed a person, killed another dog or is among those commonly known as pit bulls". The new measure removes the reference to pit bulls from the definition and requires evidence to prove pit bulls are actually vicious.
