| Dear District 4 resident,
Last Monday, March 22, the new Mesa Municipal Court opened in District 4. The new facility, approved by Mesa voters in the 2004 bond election, is 100,000 square-feet with eight courtrooms, 24 service counters windows and will house 83 staff members from the Court and City Prosecutor's Office.
The Municipal Court is located at 250 E. First Ave. and is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., closed on Fridays.
I invite you to attend a public open house and dedication ceremony for the new court house on Friday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor is expected to speak at the event.

"God Bless America" art display in Downtown Mesa
25-foot-tall, 3-D art piece on display till mid-July
Downtown Mesa is officially the new - although temporary - home for 25-foot-tall, 3-D "God Bless America" art piece. The infamous display arrived in downtown Mesa early this morning, Monday, March 1, from Chicago. The piece will be on display until mid-July 2010.

Vendor fair for City businesses
Thursday, March 4, 2-4 pm, Mesa Arts Center
On Thursday, March 4 the City of Mesa Purchasing Office will sponsor a vendor fair offering a opportunity for Mesa businesses to conduct business with the City and understand its procurement process.
Representatives from various City departments, including Purchasing, Economic Development, Police, Fire, Fleet Services and Transportation, will be present to discuss the goods and services they need that may be bought from Mesa vendors. The Mesa Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Small Business Development Center will also have representatives attending the event.

The City of Mesa has partnered with the Foundation for Homesless Cats and Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to host a FREE Cat Management Workshop to help residents with roaming cats on their property. The workshop will focus on developing a cat management plan and other solutions that are effective, long-term, legal and humane.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road.

City Manager selects new Police Chief
City Manager Chris Brady announced on Friday, February 25 that Frank Milstead will serve as Mesa's next Police Chief. Milstead will start on Monday, March 22 and joins Mesa's Police force after serving as a Commander for the Phoenix Police Department.
