i3 Grant Writing Training

In person and/or via webcast on March 23rd, 12:30 to 4pm

GrantProse is arranging a one-day training program specifically about the upcoming U.S. Department of Education "Investing In Innovation" (i3) grant competition. This training is appropriate for eligible applicants, defined as "...(a) An LEA or (b) a partnership between a nonprofit organization and (1) one or more LEAs or (2) a consortium of schools." For full information about the current i3 competition, visit the U.S. Department of Education website.

GrantProse is experienced with the i3 competition, having worked on four proposals in the first round of funding and two proposals in the second round. Among these six proposals, three were competitive, with one of our clients receiving a $15M Validation award in the second competition and, in the first round, one client receiving a rating of 66 and a third client receiving a rating of 110. The  two first-round clients did not secure awards due to how only 49 awards were made in that competition.

Date:

GrantProse will conduct the training program March 23, 2012, in conjunction with Wake Technical Community College. We hope to provide two options for attendance: 1) in person and 2) virtually via webcast. The 4-hour training program will begin at 12:30pm (EST) to accommodate those in the MidWest and on the West Coast who wish to participate.

Registration:

The fee for the training is $185 per registrant...whether the person attends in person or attends virtually via webcast. Registration is being handled by Mary Brady at Wake Tech Community College. Contact Mary Brady at (919) 335-1014 or mobrady@waketech.edu to register.

Location:

For those who will attend in person, the training will be conducted at the Wake Tech Business & Industry Center, located at 3434 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, NC. Hotels close to the Western Wake Technical Community College site include: Courtyard by Marriott: (919) 481-9666 La Quinta: (919) 851-2850 Hampton Inn: (919) 859-5559.

Training Program:

This fast-paced one-day program will be designed for the Intermediate to Advanced grant-writer...particulary those who are experienced with writing Federal grant proposals. The i3 competition is very stiff, and those new to writing grants may want to pass on i3. The training will focus sharply on the two selection criteria that are required for the pre-application due April 9 - Quality of Project Design and Significance.

Monitor the GrantProse website for more information about this training to be posted in the coming days.
