There's some good news in the tobacco arena...a report released early in September by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows fewer adults are smoking in the US. An estimated 19.3% of adults smoked in 2010, down from 20.9% in 2005, according to the CDC.

If you or someone you know needs help to quit smoking, contact the IFP's Tobacco Treatment Specialists for a FREE assessment.

Welcome to the fall issue of Prevention Connection.

In October, IFP recognizes Bullying Prevention Month. To assist school personnel in effectively addressing the problem of bullying, we have developed a comprehensive training program called, Bullying: Breaking the Trend, that will be held in two locations in October. Please click here for more information.

In this issue, you will also see that our 2011-2012 Professional Development Training Calendar is now available. Be sure to take a look at the course offerings and join us for an upcoming program.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome two new members of the IFP Team, Michelle Aimone and Alyson Zilai. Michelle will be involved in the IFP's Dating 101 program, while Alyson will be concentrating on our Strengthening Families programs.

Thank you to all who continue to support our programs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns or with suggestions regarding how we can best meet your needs.

Sincerely,
