First, A Few Announcements
- SAVE THE DATE!! MWA's 2008 Holiday Party is set for Wednesday, December 17th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Urban Center Gallery - 457 Madison Avenue, First Floor. Drinks and appetizers; Dress is casual. Waterfront fellowship, good cheer, and a special tribute to Carter Craft. Please RSVP to Matt at mklinman@waterfrontalliance.org.
The 2008 Waterfront Conference was held on Thursday, November 13th at the National Museum of the American Indian. Workshop leaders and speakers rolled out the Waterfront Action Agenda and then invited input and discussion about how to move forward to achieve its ambitious goals. The Action Agenda and the six waterfront White Papers presented at the conference are available at the MWA website: www.waterfrontalliance.org. A record of the proceedings and discussions that took place at the conference will also soon be available on our website. The energy and record number of attendees was a strong signal to our elected leaders and other policy-makers that a "blue movement" has been created and they must take note.
- MWA recently established the "Founders Circle" made up individuals who make a significant contribution during our first full year (up to 12/31/08) as an
independent organization - investing in the idea of a strong Waterfront Alliance and setting us up on an even keel to prepare for future growth and unlimited possibilities. Founders Circle members will be recognized in perpetuity on our new website and other publications. Donors of $250 plus are First-Mates; $1,000 plus are Captains; and $5,000 plus are Admirals. You can make an on-line donation here. Ahoy!! and thank you very, very much. |
