Something New Under the Sun: Summer Reading for Everyone!

Escondido Library has always had summer reading clubs for children and teens. We decided everyone should share in the joy of reading this summer so we're offering a summer reading club for every age group to enjoy. We've added an infant and toddler program to promote early literacy to the children's Dream Big - READ! reading club and an adult summer reading club called Between the Covers. The teen club is called Creatures of the Night.

Summer reading clubs are free and everyone can join starting Monday, June 11. Register in person or online through the library website. Read to receive incentives and prizes when defined levels are reached.

Reading old Times Advocate newspapers just got easier

Discover Escondido's history through the Times Advocate (old North County Times) newspaper dating back to the early 20th century! Our new digital microfilm reading/scanning equipment makes microfilms much easier to use. Just stop by the Pioneer Room to try it out.

This new equipment was made possible by the Friends of the Pioneer Room and a bequest from the Glen & Ruth Stockslager Trust.
