Book-loving volunteers are needed to help give away 20 copies of a book on April 23. The World Book Night project is looking for people just like you to help put books in the hands of those that don't normally read.
If you are at least 16 years old and want to be part of this amazing project, register to be a giver by February 6, 2012 on the World Book Night website. Then pick up your books at the Escondido Public Library in time for World Book Night.

Lulu on Paper:
A Watercolor Demonstration

Saturday, February 11th
10 AM - 2 PM
Marcella Martin will demonstrate how she brings the character - Lulu, the Calico Cat, to life in watercolor and answer questions about her paintings on display in the library. The paintings will remain on display for the month of February. Lulu is the main character of a children's book currently being created by Marcella.
Most of Marcella's watercolors are realistic representations of wildlife, flowers, and nature, but Lulu allows the charm and whimsy of a childhood friend to live once more on paper.
