Invocation
O Risen Lord and Savior, we do not deserve your favor, yet you pour out your grace upon us. Fill us with your Spirit so that your grace flows from us unhindered. Amen.
Reading Luke 6:27-38; Psalm 51:10-13
Reflection
The miraculous resurrection! Jesus was raised to life! The Son of God defeated death! And He did all of this for ungrateful and wicked people--for us!
What does this tell you about your mission? Are you here to serve the cheerful? Has God placed you in mission to reach the easily reachable? Is it your mission task to find all the people who are like you and agree with you?
No, there's much more to God's plan. As you follow Jesus, you are called to be merciful as your Father in heaven is merciful. You are called to be kind to the ungrateful and evil, to the ornery and contrary, to the downtrodden and lost. You are in mission to shine Jesus' light into the darkest corners of humanity.
Rev. Mike Newman, Texas District, Area C MMF
Pray (As you pray include . . . people who don't know Christ; people who will plant & witness; include people who pray. In addition, pray that the land be quenched with rain and that opportunities to bring God's love to individuals and communities impacted by the wildfires not be missed by God's servants.)
Benediction
As you go, go remembering God's presence, certain that the One who calls and sends also sustains. Amen.

Pray that the members of the Texas District embrace the mission.
As fears grow concerning local, state, and world events, make Your presence known, through Your church and through Your people in such a way that Your hand of grace would be seen calming hearts and minds ultimately drawing all people to Yourself.
