Welcome to Gaiasphere
Dear Friends and Family of Gaia,
Even as we prepare to welcome summer, we cannot help but
think about the difficult and drastic events currently unfolding in the Gulf of
Mexico. It is not easy to watch the news coverage and at the same time it is
difficult to look away. I would like to thank everyone who called, wrote or
posted your care and concerns over the last few weeks. I have done my best to
pass them along to where they have been most needed. I assure you that they
have been well received. My very best wishes and prayers accompany these words
and go out to every affected family, friend, kingdom, species and element - I
suppose that includes all of us!
Believe it or not we are
already halfway into 2010. Based upon that, I asked a round table of acquaintances to
describe how they felt about this year so far. Many used words like "tough,
problematic and hard". I then asked Gaia to do the same. As always, her answers
have been distinctive and unique. She said, "Did you know that some of the most
fragrant roses also have the most thorns? It might be better to plant other
fragrant flowers in order to avoid those pesky thorns, and many do. Yet for
some reason, all over the world roses continue to be cultivated. It is not
always simple, some are very tricky and their requirements quite complex. It is
said that they are hard to please, that they require too much effort and
planning, that they are troublesome and barely worthwhile, and that everything
about them is easier said than done. I would still predict that this year and
next, roses will be very popular". It's fairly obvious that Gaia is speaking
about us. And that now as always, she thinks of us as special and worthwhile.

Special Summer Events
in Ashland, Oregon
I will be offering a few special classes in Ashland this
summer. I hope you will be able to attend one or more of them. Ashland is a
beautiful place to visit and has much to offer. It is also only an hour or so
away from Mt. Shasta. If you feel drawn to the area and the classes, this would
be a lovely time to visit.
