April 14, 2011 Bozeman, Mont.-The Bozeman Tea Party will host a two-day summit, "Keep the Flame Alive," to rally Tea Partiers from around the region and state, to fire them up for 2012 and to get them prepared for what may come. The program is highlighted by a keynote speech by Sheriff Richard Mack at the Third Annual Tax Day Tea Party downtown on April 15 and at the Liberty Summit the following day at the Holiday Inn. Sheriff Mack is best known for successfully challenging federal mandates of the Brady Bill all the way to U.S. Supreme Court by affirming Tenth Amendment state sovereignty rights.
Other featured speakers are Scott Sales, former House Speaker and current Montana director for Americans for Prosperity. Sales will discuss why we're making nominal gains in the state legislature and what we can do to get ready for 2012. Joining Sales is Carl Graham, Montana Policy Institute Director, who'll discuss the state budget and the nominal spending cuts proposed by the legislature that the governor has threatened to veto.
The program also features a first-ever seminar for Tea Partiers on "Practical Preparedness." Speakers from around the region will share their expertise on communicating during emergencies, minimum emergency preparedness for families, and surviving financial challenges with sound currency.
"Our program 'Keep the Flame Alive' is more than just keeping our people focused through 2012. It's about committing ourselves to the mission of restoring the republic--no matter how long it takes."
--Henry Kriegel, a Bozeman Tea Party Board member
