Bozeman Tea Party Resolution Declaring Independence from All
Political Parties
WHEREAS the
restoration of the United States of America, which is currently burdened by
numerous threats to individual liberty, a national debt exceeding $13.3
trillion, unfunded liabilities exceeding $100 trillion, and is in danger of
economic collapse, requires men and women of courage who place loyalty to
country above loyalty to political party;
WHEREAS these
violations of our Constitution, our freedom, and our way of life have given
rise to the emergence of the Tea Party movement;WHEREAS the Tea
Party is a genuine, spontaneous, grassroots movement, whose members are
compelled by their own free will and a passion for individual freedom, working
together and organizing locally for the common good;WHEREAS the Tea
Party movement is comprised of members of all political parties, and those with
no party affiliation, as well as people of all races, creeds, and ages, united
in their belief in Constitutionally limited government, fiscal accountability,
free markets, and state and individual sovereignty;WHEREAS many
leaders, elected representatives, and appointees of the major political parties
have compromised and undermined our Constitutional Republic by voting for
federal bailouts and other assaults on individual liberty, compromising the
principles of a free market economy, limited government, fiscal accountability,
and Constitutional authority;
WHEREAS these
leaders, elected representatives, and appointees of the major political parties
have promoted a "progressive" agenda, including the creation of an
entitlement state making millions of Americans co-dependent on federal
subsidies, promoted illegal immigration and entitlements to illegal aliens, and
supported the massive federal control of vast sectors of our economy and other
programs, thus undermining our free market economy;
WHEREAS there has
been a calculated attempt by certain individuals, national organizations, and
political parties to co-opt the Tea Party movement;
BE IT RESOLVED that
the following Tea Party organizations and individual Tea Party members
acknowledge the Tea Party's full and absolute independence from all political
parties and national organizations.
BE IT FINALLY
RESOLVED that the following Tea Party organizations and individual Tea Party
members will work with groups and organizations who respect their independence
and who are united under the common principles of Constitutionally limited
government, fiscal accountability, free markets, and state and individual
sovereignty.
