Community Events and Resources 

 

Mobile Food Pantry brings food assistance to East Arlington every month. Once a month, on the first Wednesday of the month, the Tarrant Area Food Bank, in collaboration with Arlington Urban Ministries, has a Mobile Food Pantry parked at Aldersgate UMC, 2201 E Park Row, Arlington, 76010. Food includes basic food pantry items, as well as fresh vegetables and meat. Normal distribution time is between 10am-12pm, and several pounds of food are distributed. No appointment is needed. Individuals are advised to bring a suitcase or bag to carry food. For more information, email [email protected] or call 817-861-8585.

Project HIRED is a new program that helps job seekers remove legal obstacles to their employment, such as inaccuracies on criminal records or difficulties getting a driver's licensed based on problems with a driving record. Seasons of Change is promoting a curriculum-based abstinence-only intervention, Promoting Health Among Teens!, and is seeking schools, community groups, and youth agencies to host the class.
