Granger Hosts Donor Reception

Donors to the Home Improvements Capital Campaign for the ACH Wichita Street Campus were treated to an afternoon reception held at the downtown Fort Worth home of Congresswoman Kay Granger, who serves as Honorary Chair of the capital campaign.

"ACH's mission to protect children and preserve families is critical in our community today because, along with the tremendous growth in our area in recent years, we have seen the number of families in crisis continue to grow," said Congresswoman Granger. "ACH's new campus will enable them to continue to serve children and families for decades to come," she said.

In addition to taking in the great view from the terrace of the Congresswoman's home, donors were able to learn more about the progress of the capital campaign and ACH in a new video, which was shown for the first time at this event. Dr. Wayne Carson, CEO of ACH announced that ACH Board member Fred Moore and his wife Cheryl had just made a pledge of $500,000 for the capital campaign, bringing the total raised to $5.7 million of the $9.5 million goal.

Campaign Co-Chairs Julie and Glenn Davidson were on hand to thank donors for their support of the campaign. "We are grateful for the generosity shown by the Moores and for all the donors who have supported this project, and we are proud to be part of this campaign," they said.

S.O.S. for S.O.P.

Our Street Outreach Program (S.O.P.), which serves homeless and runaway youth, ages 10-21, in Tarrant County, has an urgent request for small, packaged food (Fruit Roll-Ups, peanut butter crackers, etc.) and travel-size hygiene items (soap, shampoo, etc.).

The Street Outreach Program informs, empowers and inspires youth to reduce their exposure to the risks that accompany homelessness. The program provides information and referrals for services to help youth stay safe, and also provides them with food and hygiene items. Please see our Wish List for a complete list of needed items.
ACH Given National Award

ACH Adoption PostcardIn October, ACH Child and Family Services received the Congressional Coalition's Adoption Institute's prestigious Angels in Adoption Award. ACH was nominated for the award by Congresswoman Kay Granger. "I have personally seen the impact of this agency's work in my district and can attest to their mission positively impacting the lives of thousands of children and families in North Texas in their nearly century of service," said Congresswoman Granger.

The Angels in Adoption Program, CCAI's signature public awareness program, raises Congressional awareness about the thousands of foster children in this country and the millions around the world in need of permanent, loving homes. The Angels in Adoption gala provides an opportunity for Members of Congress to commend their outstanding constituents who have enriched the lives of children through their advocacy of adoption and foster care issues.
