SJND Welcomes New Faculty and Staff Members SJND welcomes eight new
faculty and staff members this year. They are Jarrod Bordi, Damian Duran, Meg Honey, Andrea Johnson, Jessica Kim, Megan

Basketball Buddies are Sought This year's Saint Joseph Notre Dame men's basketball
program is made
up of many talented sophomore players. In order to provide a link to SJND's glorious
past so the young men know who we represent and offer the team some guidance Coach
Don Lippi is hoping that some of you will
become email buddies with a player during the year.

Cheerleading Returns to SJND St. Joseph Notre Dame Director of
Athletics Dan Curry announced today that Cheerleading will become an official
SJND sport beginning with the start of school in August. "We are very pleased
to be able to add cheerleading as a sport and look forward to it becoming an integral
part of the athletic program," said Curry. "I am also pleased to announce that
we have hired Veronica Perez as our coach to head up this program. Coach Perez
comes to SJND with a wealth of experience."

Physicals Required for PE, Sports Participants Physical
examinations: All students enrolled in physical education
classes or who are interested in participating in interscholastic sports during
the 2008-2009 school year, MUST have
a physical examination form dated after July 1, 2008 on file in the school
office prior to the start of school in order to participate in physical
education classes or try out for interscholastic sports. Students without a
physical form on file will not be allowed to participate. California State Law
requires that all high school students participating in physical education
classes or planning sports have a new physical examination each year. For more athletic department news, schedules, and requirements, click here.

Alums Invited to Homecoming Event Alums are invited to the heart of SJND's beautiful campus for a
celebration following the Alumni Basketball Game on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.. Enjoy a drink with other
alumni and catch up with old friends.

Greetings from
the Student Life Team The SJND student life team had busy summer preparing for a
fun, spirit-filled school year. The Executive Board of the Campus Life team is putting
the finishing touches on the Summer Campus Life Team Leadership Retreat. All
the elected members of the 2008-09 Campus Life Team travel to Walker Creek
Ranch in Petaluma for three days of intensive leadership training. Read more. |

Welcome to the 2008-09 school year. I trust that
you and your family had a safe and restful summer vacation and that you had an
opportunity to spend time with your family. A new school year will bring many
new changes to the school. I mailed home to all families a letter in June
detailing some of the major changes in school policy and practice. Read more.

Senior Parent Meeting
A senior parent night will be held Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in the
Basilica. All senior parents are expected to attend. This is a parent-only
event. On the agenda: Kairos retreat, college counseling, senior activities,
and Christian service.
