Exceeding Expectations

since 2006!

Greetings!

smGooseIt seems like every month something  significant happens at the Studio and we can't wait to share it!  This month is no exception!

First... WE ARE MOVING! Don't worry... we are remaining an Endwell based company... see below for more information.

We've formally expanded our staff and operations.

And we continue to grow...

With all these positive developments for our company, our excitement has definitely been tempered by the difficult times many of our clients, friends and neighbors are facing from the recent flooding.  If you or someone you know is in need of our assistance, please be sure to check out our article below.

As always, we thank you for your business and allowing us the opportunity to exceed your expectations. Feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.

Welcome!
Since our last newsletter, we would like to welcome the following new clients to our growing family...

Introducing Mr & Mrs Peter Walsh
Introducing Mr & Mrs Peter Walsh
We are moving!

moveIt's been a long time coming.  As our business continues to grow, we realized about a year ago we were quickly running out of space.  From work stations for our team and the availability of studio space for photography and video production to simply storage capacity for our specialized systems and gear, we have been maxed out.

We looked at many options from commercial development to leasing agreements as well as spoke with many of our friends and role models.  After significant deliberation and lengthy planning, we are relocating our home and offices to a new parcel on Valley View Drive in Endwell, NY.

If all goes well we will be taking possession late next month.  Construction will begin shortly after on a new studio which according to our calculations will be over TEN TIMES the size of our current studio.  We are currently in the design phase of our space and hope to have it fully operational during the first quarter of 2011.

During our move, we anticipate there will be a short interruption in our services as we not only move our equipment, but also have Time Warner re-establish internet services to the new location.  We will do our very best to minimize this down time and impact this move may have on any existing client projects.

Stay tuned for updates and photos as we make this transition which will ultimately allow us to better serve you in a more efficient way and further allow us to maximize your return on investment.
We are growing!

We are please to announce that despite New York State's unreasonable fee scales, lack of encouragement for small businesses and crazy filing requirements, Grey Goose Graphics has hired our first employee.

We welcome Jeff to our team and look forward to having him work on a variety of projects with our clients.  While his current specialty is in the video field, he has interest in the other areas of our studio's production capabilities.

We will continue to work with the many vendors, independent contractors, associates and affiliates which allow us to produce the quality results at the competitive pricing our clients have benefited from.

Please join MaryLou and I as we welcome Jeff to our team.  We hope you will have the opportunity to meet and work with him on your upcoming video projects.

Giving Back!
During the recent flooding we spent several long days in many capacities from participating in rescue and recovery efforts to pumping out many homes and businesses as well as updating websites with news releases, photos, etc.  We have seen the significant devastation this region is now faced with and truly understand the long road to recovery many are just beginning.

We are sad to hear of the limited recovery options and minimal financial support many of our neighbors are facing during these trying times. Many of the assistance programs have significantly changed since the flood of 2006.  It does not matter if its your home, business, or that of an employee, vendor or supplier... chances are each and everyone of us in the area will be affected by the drastic and immediate change in our local economy.

During these times, it is important to keep people informed, help them obtain the education they need to make good decisions and then once they figure our what they need, help them obtain the goods and/or services they need in an efficient and effective manner.

At Grey Goose Graphics, we are very fortunate in many ways.

1.) Our operation remained dry... our technology remains in place.
2.) Over the years we have built many relationships with our clients throughout the Northeast and other areas who also remained intact following the flooding.
3.) We have had several great years of growth that has resulted in a stable platform that now allows us to give back to our community in many ways.

We are currently partnering with a few clients who have approached us for web, marketing and video assistance and working with them to support their recovery efforts. We are working out special arrangements and deferred payments as well as providing some non-traditional services to assist them.

We are also helping others make connections within our large base of clients helping match those in need with those who can help.

If you or anyone you know in the Southern Tier is in a similar situation, have them contact us... we'll do our best to help develop an afordable custom solution to get their recovery efforts started

A Reminder about Paperless Billing - We are going green!

We love the environment! From fishing, hiking, camping, skiing and just spending time with friends you'll find our staff comfortable in the great outdoors.

Over the past few years we have made some significant changes to our studio to support the environment. We've made conscious decisions with our hardware. We have purchased specially designed 90% efficient power-supply units from Dell, Western Digital's Green Power hard drives, and an Energy Star rated Cooling unit from LG. We've implemented Dropbox services across our platforms and included iPad and Blackberry technology to minimize use of paper and increase our efficiency.

One of our last and probably largest initiatives moving forward will be implementing a paperless billing system beginning with the November 2011 billing cycle.

On or about November 1st, clients will begin receiving their monthly invoices and/or statements via email. An email will be generated from billing@greygoosegraphics.com with invoices, statements, etc. attached as a pdf document. As always, invoices are due on receipt.

We are encouraging you to join us in our initiative and will be offering the ability for you to pay your invoice online. In fact, we are so committed to this program, we'll even pick up the cost of the transaction. You would simply click on the link provided, sign up or sign in to the intuit payment system (brought to you by the makers of quickbooks.) It's easy, efficient, and free to you as our client.

FAQs

  • Can I still pay by check? -Yes, you may continue to pay us by check if you wish. But why not save the envelope, stamp, and cost of printing for a check?
  • What if I have an account or on a retainer? Only the delivery of your statement changes. We'll still track your account status and provide you monthly balance updates. They will just come in a pdf via email.
  • Do you accept credit cards? - Yes, we still are accepting credit cards for payments. Visa, Master Card and Discover is accepted. For balances under $100 there are no associated fees. If your account balance is over $100 and you wish to pay by credit card, a processing fee of 4% will be added to cover our expenses in processing credit cards.
  • Why do you charge a processing fee for credit cards? - We pride ourselves on delivering cost effective custom solutions. We do not mark up items like hosting, stock audio & photos, or many other supplies or products acquired for our clients. By passing these prices on to you, when you pay by credit card we would actually lose money on the percentages we are paying for the transactions. Rather than increasing our rates or marking products up for everyone (which we don't think would be fair) those who use credit cards for larger balances will be assessed a processing fee to cover this expense specific to their account.
  • What If I want a paper invoice or statement? That's easy... print one! We'll send you a pdf which is already formatted for printing, you can print it to any computer printer. If this creates an issue for you, please contact us... we'll figure something out.

We would welcome the opportunity to further address any questions you may have.  Give us a call or contact us to set up a time to meet.

The Snippet Section

Our monthly contribution of snippets of information which we believe may be helpful to pass on.

  • If you have not already figured it out... Facebook is rolling out their new interface.  They started at the End of August and should have almost all accounts converted by the end of September.  It takes a little getting used to... but has some really cool features... Real-Time updates of your friend's activities are dynamically fed to the upper right column.  A more customizable news feed appears in the center.  Want to see things in chronological order... scroll down the middle column.  Many are complaining about the change... the reality is... it's free and you really only have two choices... adapt or cancel your account.
  • If you have not yet upgraded... You may be missing out... Internet Explorer 9 is out of Beta and quickly penetrating the market... New features like support of html5 which allows more use of curves and transparency is supported in the update.  We've used some of these features in some recent sites for Salt Sanctuary and Maple Logistics Solutions.  Check them out... the subtle changes will slowly change what you can see and do.
  • IPAD Users - Lots of new apps released this month... Check out American Photo for FREE to see the documentary of 9/11.  Some really moving images!

Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
