On Feb. 12, about 30 kids of all ages visited the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique to decorate pointe shoes for our annual Valentine's Day Pointe Shoe Decorating Party! Guests used glitter, ribbons and sequins to make their pointe shoes creative and unique. Stay tuned for our next in-store event!

In January, I had the pleasure of attending a performance of "The Snow Queen" by Ballet Verona, a dance school in Verona, NJ, where all of the children wear Russian Pointe shoes. This group of young dancers did an amazing job on stage!

 River North Dance Company
This Valentine's Day weekend, I had the special pleasure of seeing River North Dance Chicago's performance "Love Is..." at the Harris Theater, which featured two world premieres: "Contact-Me" by Italian choreographer Mauro Astolfi and "The Good Goodbyes" by Frank Chaves.

 Several months ago, I was touched to be the guest of honor at the White Nights Russian Festival at the Bowers Museum in Orange County, CA. The event was spectacular and introduced many Americans to the food, music, dance and culture of Russia. The organization recently produced this video showing all of the varied events that took place that day. Enjoy!

Chicago Sister Cities Hosts Reception for Vladimir Spivakov
On Feb. 19, the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International held an exclusive VIP pre-performance reception for Russian violin virtuoso Vladimir Spivakov and Russian pianist Olga Kern. Guests enjoyed cocktails and champagne at the Club Room at Symphony Center before seeing these two prominent musicians perform a varied, eclectic program.
