Time to Plan for Nutcracker Season
It may be August, but the Nutcracker snowflakes will be falling (on stage) in no time. Nutcracker auditions are usually held in September, and only a few weeks later, dancers will be demanding new shoes for the big performance. Special order shoes can take up to 14 weeks to produce, so make sure you anticipate your shoe needs and stock up now to be ready for the rush. Russian Pointe Attends Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive 
Russian Pointe team members Tiffany Lawson and Molly Beck traveled to the Westover School in Middlebury, CT, and New York City, for two rounds of pointe shoe fittings at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive. The students were so eager to try on Russian Pointes, and both Molly and Tiffany said it was a joy to help the students at this prestigious program improve by wearing properly fitting shoes. Children Love 4th of July Pointe Shoe Decorating Party
On July 2, children flocked to the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique for an Independence Day-theme Pointe Shoe Decorating Party. It was so lovely to come spend a sunny July afternoon decorative festive pointe shoes. The children were happily covered in glue and red and blue glitter, and their designs were fun and bright! It's so wonderful to see children making something creative together, with their parents or with younger siblings. Projects like this really give families an opportunity to spend quality time together in a memorable way. Stay tuned for the next one in the fall with a Halloween theme! |

Aleksandra Efimova Helps Plan Dance/USA Conference
On July 13, Aleksandra Efimova had the distinct honor of serving as Chairman for the Opening Night Reception of the Dance/USA 2011 Annual Conference. More than 400 dance enthusiasts attended the reception, held on the stage of the fabulous Harris Theater for Music and Dance. As Chairman of the event, Aleksandra had the pleasure of welcoming Mayor Rahm Emanuel to the stage to speak about the importance of dance and Chicago's deep ties to this art form. Read more >
