Bolshoi Ballet Summer Intensive -- July 2011
Russian Pointe, the official shoe of the Bolshoi Ballet Summer Intensive, will be conducting pointe shoe fittings at this prestigious training program in Connecticut (July 10 and 24) and New York (July 11-12 and 25-26).

with Retailers!
The Ballet Series books from Growing Through Arts™ have arrived this month, and already they're flying out of the warehouse! Every day we're receiving phone calls from retailers saying they would like to carry the Growing Through Arts™ books in their stores.

Growing Through Arts™ Music Series Photoshoot
The next collection of books and toys from Growing Through Arts™ will be The Music Series, featuring books based on Peter and the Wolf, the Snow Maiden opera, and the musical Oliver Twist. Growing Through Arts™ To Appear at Trade Shows
This summer, Growing Through Arts™ will be on the road attending our first trade show in New York City! Look for Aleksandra and Elizaveta Efimova, the author and the illustrator, at booth #3335 at Children's Club, located at Pier 94, from July 31 to Aug. 2. Tiffany Lawson Joins Russian Pointe Business Development Team
 Tiffany Lawson, formerly the manager of the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique, has joined the company's business development team. A native of Louisville, Ky, Tiffany has a passion for both dance and theater. She earned a BFA in acting and dance from Millikin University and has taught ballet, jazz, modern, Latin, Pilates, tai chi and creative movement throughout the U.S. and in the Dominican Republic. Tiffany is thrilled to be taking on a new role focused on Growing Through Arts at Russian Pointe!

Courtney May Promoted to Boutique Manager
 Courtney May, an experienced professional dancer, is pleased to be promoted to Manager of the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique. Originally from Ashland, Ky., Courtney studied ballet, tap, and jazz at the Ashland Regional Dance Theatre and receive her BFA in Arts Management and Dance from Brenau University. She has danced professionally with the Gainesville Ballet and the Jeslyn Dance Gallery, where she served as ballet mistress. Courtney is excited to continue to help dancers find the perfect shoes and accessories at the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique.

Welcome, Kat Wiersum!
Kat Wiersum is pleased to be helping out Russian Pointe as an intern this summer. A native of Naperville, Ill., Kat has been a loyal customer at the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique for years as she studied ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, and hip-hop at several Chicago-area dance schools including DanceWest Ballet and the School of Performing Arts in Naperville. Kat has attended summer intensives at the Joffery Ballet in Chicago and New York, and she took part in Joffrey New York's jazz and contemporary program. A graduate of Naperville Central High School, Kat was also involved in theater and loved working back stage on productions. Now, Kat is excited to be working behind the scenes at her favorite place to shop before she starts her freshman year at Columbia College Chicago in the fall. Kat says she loves being behind the scenes, and she is proud to have helped work on Russia Day and Growing Through Arts.

Russia Day 2011 Celebration
On June 13, about 300 Russian nationals and Americans joined together to celebrate the first annual Russia Day celebration, organized by Chicago Sister Cities International, at the Chicago Cultural Center. Aleksandra Efimova served as the master of ceremonies of the evening, which featured a keynote speech from Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian Ambassador to the United States, as well as performances by a Russian-American cellist, an opera singer, ballet dancers, and two Russian choirs.

Celebrating Russian Culture in California
Aleksandra Efimova was honored that the California Russian Foundation asked her to speak at their White Nights event celebrating Russian culture at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana on June 5. As the guest of honor, she spoke about the importance of promoting the beauty and richness of Russia's culture here in the United States, and as a special treat, she read The Cinderella Ballet by Aleksandrasm to the children in the audience.
