Arts Touching People's Hearts
Loyal Russian Pointe customers Danielle Cortes DeVito and her daughter attended the Valentine's Day Pointe Shoe Decorating event at the Russian Pointe Dance Boutique. Then, a few days later, I was touched when she asked if I would autograph two pointe shoes for the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Luncheon, where Danielle was the honoree. I am delighted that the arts hold such an important place in people's hearts and that the love of dance continues to inspire people everywhere! Read more > |

Coming soon: Muse
Russian Pointe is excited to be announcing a new shoe coming in April - Muse! Part of the Spotlight Collection, Muse features an extra-wide toe platform that is perfect for the dancer who wants ample room for extra-thick gel toe pads or for dancers who have three toes of the same length or a broad toe structure. Muse features Russian Pointe's famous pre-arched construction, which helps dancers with low arches reach full pointe and reduces break-in time to extend the life of the shoe. Order Muse today! |

Joffrey Ballet's Pointe of Departure
Members of Russian Pointe were among the more than 300 people who attended "Pointe of Departure" on Feb. 10, a fundraiser for the Joffrey Ballet, where 40 artists created works that were inspired by pointe shoes. The event also included cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a DJ and a silent auction, and Aleksandra went home with a Nureyev poster! Read more > |
Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake for All Ages I took my four-year-old niece, Klava, to see Swan Lake at the Auditorium Theater on Feb. 4. She was so enthusiastic, she reminded me of myself when I was young and would go to performances by the Kirov Ballet at the famous Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. I look back now and realize how much I learned by being exposed to the arts at an early age. Read more > |
Joffrey Ballet's The Merry Widow -- Feb. 26th
The Joffrey Ballet put on a stunning rendition of this comedic ballet, starting Victoria Jaiani. The exquisite sets and lavish costumes, including Jaiani's wedding dress with a feather cape in the last act, were outstanding. And it was so exciting to take my sister and my niece with me backstage after the show. Read more > |
Oscar Night -- Jan. 27th
It was lots of glitter and glamor at the Gene Siskel Film Center's annual Oscar party. We walked down the red carpet, enjoyed food and champagne and cheered on as Natalie Portman won Best Actress for her role in the ballet movie Black Swan. Read more >
