Greetings from Aleksandra
When you read this newsletter, I'll be on my way to Cambridge, MA, for my culminating term at Harvard Business School. I'm especially excited about this term, as I will be joining a new group of fellow students. I will certainly miss my friends from my original class, but I'm thrilled to have the chance to meet even more fascinating business leaders from around the world. The change will also allow me to complete my studies a half-year early.
I'll be in Cambridge throughout March, but I plan to keep in touch through Blog entries and Tweets. For now, I hope that you will read my latest Blog entry, about my experience two weeks ago at a benefit for

Atlantic Dance Show
 Aleksandra Efimova and Stephanie Unger represented Russian Pointe at the first Atlantic Dance Show, in Baltimore on Feb. 21-22. Stephanie reports that over 100 retailers attended the show, and that Russian Pointe's seminar was "packed - a fantastic turnout!" Aleksandra and Stephanie gave a newly revised presentation, with a new PowerPoint designed just for trade shows.

Valentine's Day Shoe Decorating
 Dozens of children and adults decorated pointe shoes at the Boutique on Valentine's Day. Guests enjoyed sparkling beverages and heart-shaped chocolates, plus 10% off all merchandise. Craft tables were filled with Valentine-themed bits and bobs, and genuine Russian Pointes provided free of charge. Dance Connections...
Elizaveta Efimova and Stephanie Unger enjoyed a luncheon at the University Club of Chicago on February 9, which brought together artistic directors from three major dance companies: Ashley Wheater (The Joffrey Ballet), Glenn Edgerton (Hubbard Street Dance Chicago) and Frank Chaves (River North Chicago Dance Company). The directors spoke about the history, evolution and future of their companies, and showed video clips of their current work. This remarkable, inspiring event was hosted by famed Chicago dance journalist and author Richard Christiansen.
A few days later, Elizaveta attended River North's February 13th performance, which she found fun, touching and athletically impressive. "I had seen them perform a year ago, and it was exciting to see how the company has evolved in that time," she commented, "and the performance highlighted their varied repertoire." The program included two pieces by Robert Battle, whom Elizaveta had the opportunity to meet after the show.
Also in February, Aleksandra and Elizaveta had a magical evening at the opening night of The Joffrey Ballet's Cinderella, which they attended with Elizaveta's daughter Klava. Read Blog
