Great Harvest at the GRACE Pantry

Matthew Rice Birthday donationGRACE Food Pantry reports outstanding numbers from 2011. All together, Community Gardens volunteers planted, grew and harvested 1,500 pounds of vegetables. Potatoes, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, cantaloupe, broccoli, squash, eggplant, watermelon, lettuce, zucchini, herbs and a variety of peppers are just a few of the organic vegetables that volunteers grew in the garden. Items from the GRACE Gardens provide an important contribution both for the GRACE Food Pantry and for the Community Clinic nutrition program.

We also appreciate the recent number of pantry donations, especially near the holiday season. Thank you to Matthew Rice for raising money for GRACE at your birthday party! Because of children like you, many other children will not go hungry this winter. We cannot imagine a better birthday gift than knowing you've made a difference!

ABA Raises the Roof for GRACE
American Bus Association check presentation

We are pleased to announce that the American Bus Association raised more than $33,000 for GRACE at its annual convention last weekend. Charter bus owners and visitors' bureaus from across the United States and Canada bought items from the GRACE booth at the Gaylord Texan conference center. East Coast guests especially appreciated the cowboy boots, hats and other Texas items from Style & GRACE and GRACEful Buys.

Funds raised from the ABA Convention will be used to construct a new roof at the GRACE Transitional Housing complex. We are touched to see how many people from across the United States wanted to help our Transitional Housing clients work toward a better life.

Thanks again to the American Bus Association and to the many GRACE staff members who dedicated their time to make this event a huge success!
