Merry Christmas from GRACE!

Dream ornamentWhether you are caroling with your church, enjoying a lively conversation with friends, or opening presents with your family this Christmas, we wish you joy and warm memories.

In the true spirit of the season, we hope that you will continue to remember those around you and bless them both with your resources and with your time. Whether you help a friend in need or spend quality time with an elderly relative, all of these acts show good stewardship.

At GRACE, multiple volunteer groups helped distribute holiday baskets to nearly six hundred families at the GRACE Food Pantry on December 20th and 21st so that they too can enjoy a warm Christmas meal. Hundreds of families who have endured financial hardship over the past year received toys and other holiday items to share with their children at the GRACE Christmas Cottage. Hundreds of struggling families received items like warm winter coats and shoes thanks to your gifts. Hundreds met with caseworkers to receive a listening ear and guidance toward self-sufficiency.

There is no better way to honor Christmas than by giving!

Major Appliances Needed

GRACE Transitional Housing provides so much more for GRACE clients than simply a place to live. Victims of domestic violence enter the GRACE Transitional Housing Program to recover and reclaim their lives for two years. Clients receive a furnished space to call their own, counseling and plenty of financial education to help aid their transition to full-time employment.

GRACE Transitional Housing currently needs a new or gently used refrigerator and two ovens for clients. If you would like to donate one of these items, contact Transitional Housing Manager Olivia Wedel or Program Director Francia Arrigan today.

ABA Needs Volunteers!

ABA Convention LogoThe American Bus Association will donate funds to replace the roofs on the GRACE Transitional Housing complex.

To thank ABA for this generous contribution, please consider volunteering as a greeter at DFW airport for the American Bus Association Convention this January. All volunteers will be provided with jackets and signage. Click here for details.

Planning a Trip to Donation Station?

December 31st is to the Donation Station what April 15th is to the Post Office. Hundreds of cars, trucks and SUVs line up to make last minute donations before the new year. This year, we ask everyone who is planning to make that trip to consider doing it a little earlier. With limited staff and volunteers trying to handle the crush of donations on the 31st, you will likely have to wait in a very long line. Bringing your donations before December 31st will give you the same tax benefit without the hassle.

In addition, please package the items you are donating in disposable containers like trash bags or cardboard boxes.

"We are truly blessed to be in a community that is so willing to support others through the donation of their gently used items. We thank all of you for your generosity!"
-Debbie Haley, Director of Resale
