NCL Celebrates Fall
Many National Charity League (NCL) girls and their moms bonded with children at Feed Our Kids sites throughout the summer. While Feed Our Kids children receive free and reduced lunch each day while they are in school, they may still miss out on many of the simple pleasures that children from middle income families enjoy. When struggling parents are concerned about how they will put food on the table and pay the light bill, they do not always have the time to plan fun activities for their children.
To continue building the relationships they began during the summer at Feed Our Kids sites, NCL Southlake hosted a Halloween party for children at the Mustang Outreach center. Children enjoyed plenty of candy, games and homemade cookie treats. They competed for prizes, and they each received their very own pumpkin buckets. Seasonal Events Manager Lori Stevens is particularly impressed by the girls' initiative and their handmade touch! |
Kellogg Upgrades GRACE Pantry
Kellogg employees paid a visit to the GRACE Clinic and Food Pantry two weeks ago to paint interior doors and trim, to restripe the parking lots and to donate and install four large pantry shelving storage units. Whew! We think it was particularly fitting that Kellogg made such a great contribution to the pantry! Additionally, Kellogg donated 100 cases of food and two pop-up tent awnings to be used for outside special events. Forty-five people contributed to the major Clinic and Food Pantry upgrade, and twenty-five worked at GRACE's Donation Station cleaning the warehouse, assisting patrons and sorting and tagging items to be distributed to GRACE clients and re-sale stores.
