Woman Begins New Life at Nash
Stacia is the newest member of the GRACE Transitional Housing program. She joins us from east Texas where she left a severe domestic violence situation.
Stacia is quite resourceful and managed to escape the situation with all of her personal documents.
She also has a good work history, and thankfully she obtained full-time employment in the DFW area without knowing anyone here. Still, Stacia needs help to rebuild her life, both financially and emotionally. While Stacia awaited approval of her application at GRACE, she slept in her car.
Stacia believes that God directed her to GRACE, and she finally feels safe at home in her new apartment. She wears a bracelet that says "God is big enough" and says it reminds her of what she survived and gives her hope for the future.
When asked what she hopes to accomplish during our program, Stacia reports wanting to be fully independent financially and have an even better job with money saved.
The GRACE Transitional Housing Program boasts an 85% success rate among clients who are victims of domestic violence. Transitional
Housing clients often arrive at GRACE from women's shelters. Many have nothing but the clothes on their backs.
After two years of housing, group and individual counseling, case management, and intensive financial education, GRACE Transitional Housing clients are able to face the world when they leave. Welcome to GRACE, Stacia. |
